Rising damp is a build up of water and humidity beneath the sub surface and walls of property. It can be a widespread problem with old houses that are constructed with brick or sandstone foundations. These foundations can function as a sponge to the humidness in the floor, taking in water into walls and resulting in the unpleasant effects of rising damp.

Most houses that do not have damp course fixed (a plastic lining) have more possibility of Rising Damp. Careless piece of work in the course of the fitting of concrete block and poor water drain on high land slopes can also cause deep challenges for home and building owners. Old fashioned or futile waterproofing membranes can also be the villain when looking for the disadvantaged areas.
